Irish-Proofed: St. Patrick’s Day Fun

Are you in the Irish spirit this week? Then celebrate! The following is a roundup of some of the many St. Patrick’s Day-themed events coming up in S.B. County:

• The S.B. County Genealogical Society’s Find Your Irish and Scots-Irish Roots event will help amateur genealogy researchers of all levels trace their families’ heritage. Friday, March 13, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Goleta Presbyterian Church (6067 Shirrell Wy., Goleta). $40. Call 687-7403.

• Fonkoze of S.B.’s second annual Irish Night will feature live music and a traditional Irish family dinner. Sunday, March 15, 5 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church (1500 State St.). $30. Call 968-2338.

• The Lobero Theatre (33 E. Canon Perdido St.) is holding a St. Patrick’s Day Irish Hooley that will feature traditional Irish dancing and music. Sunday, March 15, 2 p.m. $24-$40. Call 963-0761.
