It was announced last week that the 2009 Lightning in a Bottle festival, originally scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, has been cancelled. Promoters site the lack of a location as the reason for the cancellation, and are currently fielding suggestions for the 2010 fest. Lightning in a Bottle has been held at the Live Oak Campground in Santa Ynez.


The Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced that they are accepting submissions from the community for this year’s Lemon Festival artwork. The winning submission will be featured on festival T-shirts, posters, and ads. Entries are due by Tuesday, March 31, at 5 p.m. Rules can be found online at
