Yahoo!☺ Though the Unity Shoppe of S.B. might be most widely known for its notable work benefiting the needy during the holiday season in our community, the organization is always seeking volunteers to help with their year-round humanitarian and charity programs. Volunteer organizers for food drives and special events are continuously sought—as are data entry operators, bilingual liaisons, grant writers, and office assistants, among many other positions. ☺ Goleta Valley Beautiful, a regional nonprofit organization that plants more than 500 trees a year in public places, needs volunteers to help with arbor maintenance and tree planting this weekend. The organization will be working on the grounds of Isla Vista Elementary School (6875 El Colegio Rd.) from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 28, and then at St. Vincent’s Gardens (4200 Calle Real) from 1-4 p.m. the same day.
