Alexis Cottavoz-Usher focuses on modern surfing on the South Coast in his new pictorial publication Shutterspeed. Acollection of breathtaking photos of local coastlines, the Santa Barbara-based photographer’s book and work go on display at the Storm Proofs exhibit at S.B. Art Studios (709 E. Mason St.) until April 20. All proceeds from the opening reception (6-9pm, Fri., Mar. 27)-a wine and cheese party featuring music by Bossa Nova and Bill Proctor-benefit the S.B. Surfrider Foundation.
