    Lead the Holiday Parade in Horse-Drawn Carriage

    Each December, Santa Barbarans gather to watch the Holiday Parade. Leading the floats, performers, and marching bands is a horse-drawn carriage carrying the Holiday Prince and Fairy, who light the giant Christmas tree on upper State Street, officially starting the holiday season. One boy and one girl are selected to be the Prince and Fairy based on an art contest. To enter, draw, color, or paint a picture that represents the theme of the parade, which is Unwrap the Magic. Kids ages 6-10 are invited to enter. For the rules and specifics of the contest, contact the Downtown Organization at 962-2098 x23 or visit santabarbaradowntown.com. You can download the entry form at santabarbaradowntown.com/DOEvents.asp. Entries are due by Friday, November 13, at 4 p.m.
