TAKE NOTES

Santa Barbara’s stellar youth music program Notes for Notes (notesfornotes.org) currently is in the running for funding from Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal’s BonTaj Collective Action Fund, which donates a percentage of the artists’ ticket sales to nonprofs across the country. To help ensure Notes for Notes gets the funding it deserves, visit bontaj.com/charity-on-tour.aspx and vote for the Blues/Music Education category.

IF YOU BUILD IT

The American Institute of Architects, Orange County Chapter recently awarded architect Michael Patrick Porter with the Merit Award for his Cella Residence, a 2,500-square-foot home located in Santa Barbara. The house, a modern take on S.B.’s signature Spanish style, was one of only five structures recognized by the organization. For info, visit mpparch.com.
