Nick Tonkin

WARRIOR POET: Intern Nick Tonkin likes pirates. He’s such a fan of the seafaring sinners that they’re featured in his recently penned play, Eddie Gets Pressed: One man’s struggle with ex-girlfriends, dead psychoanalysts, and scurvy pirates. A Santa Barbara native and S.B. High graduate who’s “always been into writing,” Tonkin majored in theater at Occidental College before living abroad for three years in Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. Now back in his hometown and working at The Indy, Tonkin works to keep us up-to-date on important issues while making everyone feel a bit safer; the accomplished martial artist has more than 18 years of karate experience under his black belt.
