Noel Not Seeking Reelection

After serving three consecutive terms on the Santa Barbara School Board, trustee Bob Noël announced this week that he will not be seeking reelection to the post this November. A polarizing, outspoken, and occasionally feather-ruffling member of the five-person board since 1998, Noel has no immediate plans beyond spending time with his family and teaching a class at UCSB’s College of Letters and Sciences entitled Politics and Power in Local Education: A Political Scientist’s Perspective.
