Salary Watch: City of Goleta

A Look at Salaries and Retirement Packages of County Employees


Due to the controversy surrounding the salaries and retirement packages for employees at the City of Bell, The Independent will be publishing the salaries and retirement packages for public employees in Santa Barbara County for the next few weeks. First is the City of Goleta.

In the City of Goleta:

• City Manager Dan Singer makes $190,674 a year, plus $31,100 in annual contributions to his retirement plan.

• City Attorney Tim Giles makes $171,995 a year, plus $28,000 in annual contributions to his retirement plan.

• Community Services Director/City Engineer Steve Wagner makes $162,074 a year, plus $26,400 in annual contributions to his retirement plan.

• City councilmembers each take home $4,800 a year.
