Southern California Edison’s Rummage Sale to Raise Funds for Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation; Area Humane Organization Needs Cat Supplies


• The VIVA (Volunteers for Inter-Valley Animals) cat-rescue group is in need of donations for their S.B.-area cat and kitten shelter. Some items on the kitties’ wish lists include Purina dry cat food, Friskies canned cat food, sturdy paper towels (any brand), powdered laundry soap, and gallons of liquid bleach. Donations can be dropped off at the VIVA Adoption Ctr., 133 N. D St., Lompoc. Call 735-6741 for more info.

• On Saturday, August 28, Southern California Edison (SCE) will host a Swap Meet/Rummage Sale to raise money for the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. The group, based in S.B., helps families who have a child diagnosed with cancer, with aid ranging from financial aid to support services. Available items will include clothing, household goods, crafts, and more. The sale runs from 8 a.m.-noon at the SCE S.B. District Office, 103 David Love Pl., Goleta. Call 683-5239 for more info.
