Goleta Gets New Police Chief

Lt. Ugo “Butch” Arnoldi—a 36-year veteran of the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s office—is the new Chief of Police Services for the City of Goleta. He replaced Lt. Phil Willis, who recently announced his retirement. Arnoldi has held a number of positions over the years, including Chief of Police Services for the City of Carpinteria and Lieutenant of the Isla Vista Foot Patrol. “I’ve worked the majority of my career in the Goleta Valley. It’s where I live and raised my family. So, I am committed to protecting and maintaining this excellent community,” he said.
