How Santa Barbarans Can Contribute to Disaster Relief


Want to help Haiti? The following is a selection of some of the many upcoming fundraisers in the Santa Barbara area—all of which are donating proceeds to reputable organizations involved with disaster relief efforts in the earthquake-ravaged island nation.

• A Night of Music and Art to Benefit Haiti: With S.B. musicians Khasy Modisette, Mark Renk, and Erland Wandberg, plus a silent art auction. Tuesday, February 9, at 8 p.m., at SOhO (1221 State St.). $10. Call 962-7776.

Ritmo y Sabor Salsa Night and Haiti Fundraiser: Featuring music by Mezcal Martini, plus art, drinks, and tasty appetizers. Tuesday, February 9, from 8-11 p.m., at Rumble Art Fair 2010 Gallery Space (9 E. Figueroa St.) $20; ages 21+. Call (310) 804-0123.

In Our Shoes Haiti Fundraiser: Photo exhibit and sale featuring the work of S.B.-based artist and former Haiti resident Gérald Pierre. Friday, February 12, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., at South Pacific Coffee (7398 Calle Real, Goleta). Call 450-3162.

• Cookie Sale for Haiti Relief: Garden Court’s residents host a fundraiser bake sale. Friday, February 5-Saturday, February 6, from noon-5 p.m., at Garden Court (1116 De la Vina St.). Call 560-7991.
