Tuttini’s Café and Bakery, located at 10 East Carrillo Street, reportedly will be closing on 2/21. The breakfast and lunch restaurant has been in business for six years and was created by Susan and Winston Sullivan, who previously had opened and managed Tutti’s in Montecito.

In a letter to supporters sent on 2/15, Miramar Hotel owner Rick Caruso said he is committed to building the hotel and emphasized the property is not for sale, despite the “devastated economy” in which he is trying to rebuild the luxury hotel. He is asking the Board of Supervisors for a one-year extension on the coastal development permit for the property, as allowed by law. In the meantime, design work planning continues to move forward on the site, which has sat unused for the last decade.
