Man Attempts to Rob Goleta Subway

Clerk Reportedly Refused to Give Suspect Cash

Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Drew Sugars confirmed today that an unidentified suspect tried to rob the Subway store located in Goleta’s Magnolia Shopping Center at 8:45 p.m. last night.

According to Sugars — who is currently gathering additional information from detectives — a male suspect in his late teens or early twenties entered the store, pulled a gun, and demanded cash. Although details are hazy, the clerk reportedly didn’t comply and the suspect left without any money.

Sugars said that a suspect may be in custody, and will release additional information soon.
