TEE TIME

The West Beach Music Fest is teaming up with Creative Allies to host a T-shirt design contest. Winners will score $150 and two three-day concert passes. Artists are encouraged to use vintage beach themes, and must include the name “West Beach Music Festival” in their designs. Contest rules and deadlines are available online at creativeallies.com.

FOR THE KIDS

The Art Is Vital Gallery (15 W. Gutierrez St.) celebrates its ongoing exhibition, In Your Heart …, with a reception this Thursday, July 1, from 5-8 p.m. The show features a selection of mixed-media pieces from the students of Open Alternative School and will hang through Wednesday, July 14.

The fifth annual Ventura Book Festival is seeking volunteers to help with ticket taking, registration, door monitoring, poster and flyer distribution, assisting exhibitors, and more during and prior to the July 17 event.
