East Beach Body Identified


The body of a 25-year-old local man was found on East Beach on 6/23. Cyrus Nathan Lathrop had slept on the beach in a sleeping bag with some friends, drifting off around 11 p.m. the night before. Fourteen hours later a friend found Lathrop in his sleeping bag nonresponsive just after 1 p.m. There were no signs of trauma or injury, according to police, and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
