March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and because colon cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Santa Barbara County, the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara is offering free colon cancer screenings to adults in Carpinteria, Goleta, and Santa Barbara until the end of the month. A health care provider will be at each of the following locations to hand out free take-home test kits and answer any patient questions.

• Sunday, March 14, 8-11 a.m.: St. Joseph’s Church, 1532 Linden Ave., Carpinteria

• Sunday, March 21, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.: St. Raphael’s Church, 5444 Hollister Ave., Goleta

• Saturday, March 27, 1-4 p.m.: Eastside Neighborhood Clinic, 915 N. Milpas St., 2nd floor

Tests must be returned by mail to the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, and results will be provided within two weeks. Call 898-2204 for more info.
