Op-Ed Columnist Discusses “Politics in the Age of Obama”

Raised in Stuyvesant Town, New York City, political columnist and book author David Brooks has raised eyebrows within his Republican party for supporting gay marriage and being pro-choice. An admirer of President Obama, the moderate conservative will be in S.B. to give a talk titled Politics in the Age of Obama, in which he will discuss the “new age of presidential politics.” Brooks currently writes a biweekly op-ed column for the New York Times and is an analyst on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and NPR’s All Things Considered. The event takes place Monday, May 10, 8 p.m., at UCSB’s Campbell Hall. Tickets cost $17. For more information, call 893-3535 or visit
