Gamelan Çudamani Transforms Traditional Balinese Music and Dance into Contemporary Spectacle

Gamelan Çudamani’s performance Bamboo to Bronze is sure to dazzle audiences this week at UCSB—like it has done so for generations in the troupe’s native Bali. The production will honor Balinese spiritual practices and customs by combining culturally traditional music and dance in a stunning, innovative way. The 24-member ensemble takes the stage at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, at UCSB’s Campbell Hall. Tickets are $40. Call 893-3535 for more info.
