Bening to Get Film Fest Award

Annette Bening will receive the American Riviera Award at this year’s Santa Barbara International Film Festival, it was announced this week. Bening received widespread acclaim for her roles in The Kids Are All Right and Mother and Child and will be given the award—which recognizes a performer who has had a big impact on American cinema—at the Arlington Theatre on 1/28. The actress has been nominated for an Academy Award three times and is known for displaying an impressive range in her work, starring in romantic comedies such as The American President as well as compelling dramas like American Beauty.
