Gang Member Chased and Stabbed

Police Respond to Fight Near Corner of Milpas and Yanonali Streets

Santa Barbara police responded to reports of a fight this weekend near the corner of Milpas and Yanonali Streets to find a 21-year-old known gang member bleeding from multiple stab wounds.

The man was transported to Cottage Hospital where he was treated for the non-life threatening injuries. Police, meanwhile, were unable to track down the suspects, described as males with shaved heads and tattoos.

According to witnesses, just after 5 p.m. on Sunday two red SUVs drove up to the victim and his friend as they were walking near Alisos Street, and as many as four men, some armed with bats, chased after the two. The victim’s friend was able to run away.

Anyone with information on the attack is encouraged to call (805) 897-2335.
