Two Area Nonprofits Seek Donations for Holiday Toy Drives.

• The S.B. City Fire Department is asking the community to support this year’s Toys for Tots campaign. Toy donations will be distributed to local needy children this Christmas by the Unity Shoppe. Those wishing to help can drop off a new, unwrapped toy seven days a week at any of the city’s eight fire stations—including downtown headquarters at 121 West Carrillo Street. Call 564-5711 for a complete list of fire stations or for more info.

• The area chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is seeking gift donations for children with life-threatening illnesses this holiday season. The nonprofit is in most need of gift cards, disposable cameras, children’s games, and portable DVD and MP3 players. New unwrapped items can be mailed to or dropped off at Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Tri-Counties, 4222 Market St., Ste. D., Ventura, CA 93003. Call 676-9474.
