Sansum Announces Upcoming Flu Shot Clinics

The month of November will see a number of Flu Shot Clinics throughout Santa Barbara.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone over the age of 6 months receive a flu vaccine each year. This is because flu viruses change each year and flu vaccines differ from year to year in order to protect against the types of flu most likely to be circulating.

Although everyone 6 months and older is recommended to get a flu vaccine each flu season, getting a flu vaccine is especially important for those at greatest risk of having serious flu-related complications or those that live with or care for such people including:

– Pregnant women

– Children younger than 5, but especially children younger than 2 years old

– People 50 years of age and older

– People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions

– People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities

– People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu, includinghealth care workers and household contacts of persons at high risk for complications

– November 20: 9 AM – 1 PM

• Must be current Clinic pediatric patient; no children under 12 years of age will be given flu vaccine.

For Adults:

• New and Current Patients Welcome

• No Appointment or Physician Referral Necessary.

• A $20 donation is requested.
