Santa Barbara’s Casa Dolores Commemorates Mexican Independence, Revolution
Celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of Mexican independence and the centennial anniversary of the country’s revolution at Casa Dolores (1023 Bath St.) next Thursday, September 16. The historic house will be the scene of a celebration featuring authentic music by Mariachi Juvenil de Santa Barbara, folkloric fashion, Mexican food, and history. First District Supervisor Salud Carbajal will reenact El Grito de Dolores, the battle cry of the Mexican War of Independence. The commemoration runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m.; the event is free and open to all ages. Call 963-1032 for more info.
