Police are investigating the reported sexual assault of a woman who said a suspect snuck in through an unlocked window of her Goleta apartment early Saturday morning.

According to the Wednesday morning news release, the woman fell asleep and woke up to find a man in her bedroom. The suspect sexually assaulted her and left through the front door. The woman, who did not get a clear look, described the suspect as possibly being Caucasian and small in stature.

Due to the sensitivity of the crime, Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Drew Sugars declined to go into the details of the investigation.

A detective has been assigned to the case full-time and the investigation is ongoing.
