There was a comment about Operation Gator Roll by a teacher who worked with gang-affiliated kids, which I’m pretty sure was intended to be, “There was a disturbance in the Force that day.” (Rather than in the “forest.”) If the source was in fact misquoted, the Star Wars reference is certainly more fitting to the upheaval in the structure and psychological dynamics of the gang situation in Santa Barbara. However, if this tree-hugger happens to be mistaken, please forgive; may the Forest be with you.—Mary C. Perez
