Man Found Dead on Castillo

Police Labeling Death “Suspicious”

Santa Barbara police are investigating a “suspicious death” of a male discovered sometime Saturday evening.

Details are slim, but Sgt. Arroyo of the SBPD confirmed a male body had been discovered in the 700 block of Castillo Street, which is between Ortega and De La Guerra Streets. Arroyo didn’t know the age of the male, nor when he was discovered. His identity hasn’t yet been released.

Arroyo wouldn’t say whether the body was found inside a residence or outside.

She also wouldn’t say whether anyone had been taken into custody in relation to the death, only saying the death “is being investigated.”
