Trainer to the Stars Comes to S.B.
If you own a canine, you probably know the name Tamar Geller. She has appeared on several television shows, including Oprah and Ellen, and has written best-selling books about her dog-training techniques. On May 1, you can meet Geller up close when she comes to HydroPaws for a question-and-answer session and book-signing of her latest tome, 30 Days to a Well-Mannered Dog. Calling it the “Loved Dog Method,” Geller uses affection to train pooches rather than strict discipline. Also on the schedule, Karen Atlas, HydroPaws’ director of animal rehabilitation, will demonstrate different types of rehabilitation, including the underwater treadmill, laser, and physioball exercises. The event is free and takes place May 1, noon-3 p.m. at HydroPaws (San Roque Pet Hospital, 3034 State St.). Call 687-4131.
