Local Child Abuse Prevention Group Seeks Volunteers; Nonprofit Historical Society to Host Monthly Fundraiser Marketplace

• April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and area nonprofit CALM (Child Abuse Listening and Mediation), which works with children and adults to help prevent child abuse in the S.B. community, is currently seeking volunteers to help with its efforts. Call 965-2376 for more info.

• The nonprofit Carpinteria Valley Historical Society will host its monthly Museum Marketplace on Saturday, April 30, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Proceeds from sales of antiques, collectables, jewelry, furniture, books, art, toys, and more will benefit the Historical Society. The event takes places at the Carpinteria Valley Museum of History, 956 Maple Avenue, Carpinteria. Admission is free. Call 684-3112 for more info.
