“We expect to find very few DUI suspects because sober, licensed designated drivers have become so common during Fiesta in the past few years. That’s exactly the way to go, whether your driver is a friend, relative or a cab driver,” said Senior Deputy Jeff Farmer of the sheriff’s office, Avoid the 12 coordinator.
Deputies will patrol both nights, with Santa Maria officers on Friday night and Lompoc and California State Parks officers on Saturday night, augmenting the DUI team from the Santa Barbara Police Dept.
Avoid the 12, the county’s multi-jurisdictional law enforcement crackdown on drunk driving, gets its funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Keep a sharp eye out for the co-op propaganda machine of 'On Patrol' as it 'documents' the textbook performance of Santa Barbara's finest, while leaving the evidence of their misdeeds on the cutting room floor with the blessing of the City of Santa Barbara per written contractual right to destroy footage within 10 days, and without review by any government lawyer.
