The Tea Party has introduced a new form of politics into the legislative process of the Federal government: thug politics. Long after Congress, including the Tea Party Republicans, approved the budget, the Tea Party tried to keep the government from raising the debt ceiling to borrow the money to pay for expenses already made. Instead of meeting to work out a compromise to differing political opinions, the new policy was to wait until the U.S. government was on the brink of a self-imposed economic collapse.

Misrepresenting themselves as a grassroots organization representing the American people, the Tea Party is actually one of the greatest cons ever perpetrated on U.S. citizens by wealthy right-wing conservative Republicans. Composed largely of uninformed and inexperienced representatives who know nothing about economics or how the political process works, they are puppets for wealthy campaign-funds contributors who are using them for their own personal and political gain.

This group must feel threatened when President Obama goes on television to ask the American people to take our country back. Their goal is to get another Republican puppet back into the white house in 2012. And we can go back to an era when Wall Street, the banking industry, and big business were allowed to regulate themselves. After all, what’s the worst that could happen?
