Some Summer and Fall Events to Get Your Sips On


This Saturday, August 20, the Sogno Del Fiore Ranch in Santa Ynez is hosting its second annual wine tasting and dinner to benefit People Helping People (syvphp.org) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org). Featuring chefs from The Ballard Inn, Trattoria Uliveto, Full of Life Flatbread, and other valley superstars, and fine wines from Alban, Baker & Brain, Kosta Browne, Saxum, Sinor-LaVallee, and elsewhere, the event begins at 4:30 p.m. Tickets for the limited seats are $125 for Fiore wine club members, $145 for nonmembers. TEMPRANILLO TASTING: Celebrate “Septempranillo” on International Tempranillo Day, September 1, at Thomas Hill Organics Market Bistro in Paso Robles during a 5:30-7:15 p.m. event that features a winemaker panel discussion, tastings of the Spanish-bred grape, and tapas ranging from almond gazpacho to grilled octopus.
