Street Sweeper Catches Fire

Castillo Street Apartment Complex Evacuated

Fire crews responded at around 10:30 this morning to a street sweeper that caught fire on the corner of Castillo and Arrellaga streets.

Though details remain sketchy, it appears a nearby apartment complex at 1600 Castillo Street was evacuated as crews battled the blaze, and the northbound Highway 101 offramp was closed at Arrellaga Street.

Fire officials have been unavailable for comment. Check back for additional details.
