Fatal Accident on Highway 101 near Castillo Offramp

Two Southbound Lanes Blocked; One Remains Open


There was a fatal vehicle accident at around 3:50 p.m. this afternoon on southbound Highway 101 near the Castillo Street offramp.

Based on scanner chatter and an online CHP report, one person was critically injured and died at the scene. It appears the accident involved a motorcycle and a car. It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt. The CHP has contacted the Coroner’s Office, and emergency crews remain on the scene.

Two southbound lanes are blocked. One lane remains open.
