Week in Sports Update


Bishop Diego High’s basketball teams will both have home games in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section playoffs. The Cardinal boys (Division 6AA) will host the Shalhevet Firehawks on Tuesday night, and the girls (Division 5A) will face the Archer Panthers on Wednesday night. Santa Barbara High will also be home against Indio in the girls Division 2A quarters.

SBCC has advanced to the Southern Cal Regionals in women’s basketball for the sixth consecutive year. The Vaqueros are seeded 15th and will host 18th-seeded L.A. Trade Tech at the Sports Pavilion on Wednesday night.

The top-ranked Dos Pueblos High girls water polo team, winners of 65 consecutive games, will face Laguna Beach in the CIF Division 1 semifinals on Wednesday night in Irvine.

Tuesday, February 22
