BoehmGroup and Santa Barbara City College have partnered to produce a snapshot of its first 100 years, highlighting the evolution of the institution since its doors opened in 1909, as well as its role in the community going forward. Written by local author Leslie Westbrook and full of stunning photographs from one of the nation’s most coveted campuses, the centennial book serves not only as a reminder of the impact City College has made on a town that never seems to stop learning, but how a small, seventy-four-acre campus fully illustrates the idea of quality over quantity.

BoehmGroup Founder Eric Boehm is also the creator of Goleta-based ABC-CLIO, now an internationally known history publisher.

“Santa Barbara City College has always had a special place in my heart as an educational institution that has lifted many from near-poverty to success and as an institution whose presidents I have known and held in the high esteem they deserve,” Eric Boehm said.

Chief Operating Officer Jeff Boehm enjoys working with local establishments that have directly impacted his life, and sees this project as only the beginning of his quest to help the community record its history.

“Having been born and raised in Santa Barbara and attended both standard enrollment and Adult Education classes, I know the value SBCC brings to this town,” said Jeff Boehm. “As a result, I really enjoyed working on this project and look forward to future collaboration.”

In addition to the City College project, BoehmGroup continues to help local groups and businesses document their stories. Recently partnered with Cottage Hospital, BoehmGroup will assist in the creation of a 120-year retrospective hardback, slated for publication near the end of 2011. In February, the six-year-old company will begin the filming of a video project for Sansum Clinic, which will focus on their history, role in the community as a non-profit entity, and the array of technology and physicians available to patients.

BoehmGroup is a Santa Barbara based biography organization, specializing in individual and organizational biography and history preservation. The company was founded on the belief that everyone has a story to tell. BoehmGroup creates books, videos/DVDs, Web-bios, digital scrapbooks and audio snapshots – each of which offers a unique way of conveying one’s story. They also assist with the scanning, organizing and archiving of photos and documents.

By helping organizations and individuals preserve their legacy, BoehmGroup achieves its larger objective: linking past, present, and future.
