Holiday Hangover Hat Party January 22

Oreana Winery Hosts Annual Liberation from New Year’s Resolutions

The making of New Year’s resolutions is at once the most optimistic and cynical of acts. The vow to change creates a continuing faith in human improvement – ‘I’ll lose 30 pounds this year,’ but the format is so tyrannical that it often leads to failure – ‘Yeah, well, maybe twenty…’

Oreana Winery in Santa Barbara is proud to promote the liberation of these constraints with the annual Holiday Hangover Hat Party on Saturday, January 22 at 6pm with local band Tommy & The High Pilots fresh off their first national tour.

As an added, unplanned bonus, it also happens to be National Hat Day so we are giving free admission to anyone wearing a hat – the stranger the better. There will be prizes given away for crazy, goofy and just plain ugly headwear.

All this is wrapped up in a festive, winter-like setting with ice sculptures, chillin’ wintery sounds and warm hot cider. Oreana will also introduce “The Year of Merlot,” which welcomes the grape varietal back after a long cold hatred following the movie Sideways.

Admission is free, Wines are available for purchase by the glass, typically $5-9 per glass. The event starts at 6pm and runs until 10pm. Oreana Winery is located at 205 Anacapa Street, two blocks from the beach and two blocks off of State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. The tasting room phone number is 805.962.5857.
