Guns ‘n’ Ideology

Anyone struggling to make sense of the tragic mass killing in Tucson and the dramatic rise of dogmatic and extremist politics and religion in this country could, perhaps, find some understanding and perspective in the words of Buddhist teacher, writer, and practitioner Thich Nhat Hanh:

If you have a gun, you can shoot one, two, three, five people, but if you have an ideology and stick to it, you can kill millions.”
