Some Public LIbrary Branch Hours Change July 11

Reduced Hours of Operation at Montecito and Solvang Libraries

Two branches of the Santa Barbara Public Library System will have reduced hours of operation, beginning July 11, 2011.

The Montecito Library will be open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 5:30 pm, but will no longer be open Monday evenings. The Solvang Library will open 11 am to 7 pm Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 am to 5 pm on Friday and Saturday. The reduced hours of operation were necessitated by the decreased funding from both the County of Santa Barbara and State of California. Fortunately, further anticipated reductions were avoided due to an increase in financial support from Friends of the Library organizations in Carpinteria, Montecito, and Solvang, in addition to increased support from the City of Solvang.

In addition to the reductions, the Santa Ynez Library will be adjusting its hours of operation to 1 to 4 pm on Saturdays, instead of the current 2 to 5 pm.
