Old Spanish Days are still a month away, but folks can start celebrating early at Fiesta Ranchera. The event features food from area restaurants, music by flamenco guitarist Tony Ybarra, and a dance performance by the 2011 Junior Spirit and Spirit of Fiesta. “We are thrilled to return to our roots,” said La Presidenta Joanne Funari. The party that started it all was held long ago in 1892 by the Hollister and Stow families. They used to refer to it as a good old-fashioned barn raising—today, we call it Fiesta Ranchera.” Thursday, July 14, 5 p.m., Rancho la Patera & Stow House, 304 N. Los Carneros Road. Cost: $45 (advance), $65 (door). For tickets, visit goletahistory.org or oldspanishdays-fiesta.org. For more info, call 962-8101 or email info@oldspanishdays-fiesta.org.
