A car accident at 9:35 a.m. this morning knocked out power to dozens of Goleta homes. According to County Fire officials, a 75-year-old man lost control of his car on Modoc Road and Encore Drive and hit a power pole, shearing it off its base. The man was injured, though it’s not clear to what degree, and he was transported to Cottage Hospital by ambulance.
