• Members of the “21 and over” crowd are needed for a beach cleanup at Stearns Wharf (State St. and Cabrillo Blvd.) this Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m.-noon. Organized by the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, a partnership between Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation, cleanup volunteers will be invited to a celebratory wine tasting and light dinner at the nearby Bay Roadhouse Bar and Grill (202 State St.) from 5-7 p.m. that evening. • With more than 400 participants registered, organizers of the Goleta Beach Triathlon on Sunday, July 31, are seeking volunteers to set up, supply water and food, encourage participants, and more.
