The (805) Deli Serves Up Sandwiches to Transition House

For the third year in a row, The (805) Deli has run it’s “Buy One, Give One” campaign to provide sandwiches for the families living in Transition House’s Emergency Shelter.

The campaign runs during the week of Thanksgiving but the sandwiches are delivered as needed, throughout the year. This week The (805) Deli served up 50 of the more than 600 sandwiches donated over the past three years, and are on track to deliver more than 100 more before the next promotion in November. Deli owners, Anne & Todd Pazier developed the promotion with the idea that their customers could feel good about directly feeding a fellow community member in need, simply by purchasing their own lunch.

Transition House is dedicated to the solution of family homelessness in the Santa Barbara community. Capable and motivated families with children are offered respectful, non-sectarian residential services and the life skills needed to alleviate their poverty, and to restore self-sufficiency and dignity. For more information or to volunteer at Transition House, call (805) 966-9668. The (805) Deli is located at 135 E Carrillo St. and is open weekdays from 6am to 5pm, providing lunch, breakfast, and catering for all size meetings and events.
