Tessa Marie, granddaughter of legendary American Icon, Fess Parker, and daughter of Eli Parker (Fess Parker Winery, Epiphany Cellars) has announced the debut of her own brand, Tessa Marie.

At 24-years old, it’s hard to believe that Tessa already has 6 harvests under her belt. Tessa studied Enology and Viticulture at Allan Hancock College before striking out on her own with Tessa Marie Wines. Her father, Eli Parker, served as her mentor, providing her with guidance as she established relationships with growers and vendors within the industry. She currently sources fruit from some of Santa Barbara’s more esteemed vineyards, including the Hampton Vineyard, Honea Vineyard and Camp 4.

Producing approximately 1,000 cases a year of Italian varieties, Tessa Marie wines consist of a small, yet diverse portfolio which includes Vermentino, Sangiovese and her spin on a super Tuscan, a blend of Sangiovese and Syrah called “Coquette” among others.

“I like to make New World-style wines with bold, stand-out flavors, that still demonstrate balance.” Tessa Marie makes her wines in a small, unassuming industrial warehouse space nearby. “For me, making wine is really about making art. I don’t mean that I take it all too seriously, it’s just that I like to take my time when I’m making wine. I rely much more upon my intuition and sense of taste, when I’m in the cellar, than on analysis. I guess my approach is intuitive, more than anything else.”

Tessa Marie has established a tasting room for her wines in the township of Los Olivos, located just north of Santa Barbara. Small and modern, the tasting room is a reflection of Tessa Marie’s aesthetic; minimalist and airy.
