With the boundary lines of Lois Capps’s congressional district about to be dramatically redrawn, Republican candidates are actively sniffing around for a chance to take on a politician deemed hitherto unbeatable. Last week, former lieutenant governor and state senator Abel Maldonado announced he was definitely in. Shortly afterward, Tom Watson, who ran unsuccessfully against Capps last November, sent out an email thanking supporters for their continued support in 2012, urging them to stay tuned for more definitive statements. Actor Chris Mitchum, son of actor Robert Mitchum, is seriously considering running for the seat. For her part, whatever her new district boundaries, Capps says she intends to run again in 2012.

ok, dramatically redraw districts, fine. Why not tackle the real problem with politics and get rid of lobby-ists and the big money(you know, the corporate sponsors that bring us the dumb, deaf, and blind politicians). The solutions to our problems seem so simple yet nobody is leading us anywhere but over the cliff.

Are you aware that the Redistricting Commission has noted that Lois Capps district is the poster child for what is wrong with our current maps...
