Strickland’s Bill in Response to City of Bell Fails

A state Senate bill authored by Senator Tony Strickland, which would have forced public employees to give up their public pension benefits if they were convicted of a felony as a result of conduct arising out of their professional duties, failed in committee this week. A similar bill already exists for elected officials only. Strickland said he introduced the bill in response to the scandal in the City of Bell.
