Mahal’s Musical Mayhem

Versatile bluesman Taj Mahal will take the Lobero Theatre (33 E. Canon Perdido St.) this Thursday, appearing with his Trio. Mahal—a composer, instrumentalist, and vocalist—infuses the Trio’s bluesy rhythms with his highly skilled banjo, piano, and guitar melodies. These signature sounds have earned Mahal high ranks in the blues world; the artist has been credited with broadening the genre’s spectrum by incorporating world influences and sounds from global cultures into traditional American blues.
