The investigation continues into the fire that started in a South Quarantina Street storage yard on 11/17 that left one person dead and another seriously injured. The name of the deceased, a homeless woman in her late forties or early fifties, has not been released because some of her family members still need to be notified. The injured victim, 62-year-old Justin Mezey, is recovering from his burns but has been talking with fire investigators about what happened that night. Details on the sequence of events remain scarce as Mezey claims he was asleep when the fire began. At the time of the incident, the two were in a trailer that served as Mezey’s part-time home.
