Director Spike Lee’s Passing Strange is a 2009 film that captures a smash hit Broadway musical of the same name on camera. More than just a film recording of a stage show, Lee combines amazing cinematography with the energy of the musical, resulting in a movie that the New York Times says brings the show “to its fullest, strangest, most electrifying realization.” The flick screens at UCSB’s Campbell Hall on Tuesday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 and free for UCSB students with current student ID.
