“The Friends of the Library were very pleased to be chosen as beneficiaries of this event,” said Elizabeth Breen, Board Vice-President for Friends of the Library Santa Ynez Valley. “The funds will make a significant contribution to ongoing programs and materials available to the public.”

This is the seventh year the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians has hosted the popular tournament, which was held on August 11, 2011 at the Alisal River Course, with total proceeds to-date totaling more than $650,000. Past beneficiaries of the tournament include: People Helping People, Stuart C. Gildred YMCA, and Unity Shoppe of Santa Barbara.

Giving back to the community has always been a tradition of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. Today, the Santa Ynez Chumash tribe continues that tradition by donating to hundreds of local groups, organizations and schools in the community.
